Committees
The Board of Trustees oversees the mission, programs, services and fiscal health
of the church. They do this work through
the following committees:
- The
Worship Committee provides support for
the worship services by offering programs in the minister's absence and
supporting the Minister's services as needed. The Chairperson is Lynn
Hightower.
- The
Religious Education Committee provides
an ongoing program of lifespan religious education. Sharon Pedersen is the
Religious Education Coordinator. The committee is currently without a
chairperson.
- The
Outreach Committee coordinates and
plans free and open discussions and programs on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of
every month in Jackson at the main library. The committee is currently
without a chairperson.
- The
Membership Committee provides services
to newcomers and supports membership activities. The Chairperson is Kathy
Haynes.
- The Caring Committee provides support for members and friends in
need by making home and hospital visits, providing caring baskets and cards.
The Chairperson is Alyce Oosting.
- The Building and Grounds Committee focuses on growth and maintenance
of the facility and grounds. The Chairperson is Vic Marshall.
- The Committee on Ministry exists to nurture the health of the
ministry of the congregation and to foster right relations with the
minister. Members are Marge Duane, Gretchen Marshal, and Alyce
Oosting.
- The Board of Trustees meets on the
first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. These are open meetings and a
good starting point for newcomers to learn about the church. The Board
President is Jane Volk.
