Universalist Unitarian Church of East Liberty

Beliefs

Unitarian Universalism is a non-creedal faith, which means that we cherish freedom of belief.  Our church is a welcoming home for people of all beliefs, including Christian, Jewish, theist, Pagan, atheist, and agnostic.  Together we search for meaning and covenant to uphold the ethical principals of the Unitarian Universalist Association:

  • The inherent worth and dignity of every person
  • Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations
  • Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations
  • A free and responsible search for truth and meaning
  • The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large
  • The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all
  • Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
As a faith, we draw from many sources for our worship and spirituality: Direct experience of transcending mystery and wonder; words and deeds of prophetic women and men; the world's religions, including (but not limited to) the Jewish and Christian faiths and Earth-centered traditions; and Humanist teachings.
