Our church has a
social mission policy that allows us to take votes on social justice
issues and to support local organizations. We have periodic social
justice events that are listed in our
newsletter.
Our Sunday service's offering is shared with four agencies that we vote
on annually. Agencies that we have voted to support include:

AWARE SHELTER
Aware Shelter has been consistently chosen for our quarterly
collections and we have held special drives for them.

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS
We worked with Big Brothers, Big Sisters for a JXN Community Forum
and hosted a recent event for BB/BS.

BROOKLYN FOOD PANTRY
We have had special collections, food drives, and volunteers
work at the Brooklyn Food Pantry.

CHURCH WORLD SERVICE -- CROP
We have had members participate in CROP walks as a group.

COALITION FOR ADOPTION RIGHTS EQUALITY
We have had a sermon on the subject with a guest speaker from
the agency.

COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY (JACKSON COUNTY)
CAA has participated in
JXN Community Forums.

DISABILITY CONNECTIONS CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING
We have worked with disAbility Connections CIL
for a church audit and for adult religious education. We
held a JXN Community Forum with them.

FAMILY SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S AID
Our minister has been a member of their
board, they have participated in JXN Community Forums, and
presented a worship service at UUCEL, and we held a suitcase
drive for foster children through FSCA.

JACKSON INTERFAITH SHELTER
They are regularly chosen for our special
collections.

PARENTS, FAMILIES AND FRIENDS OF LESBIAN AND GAYS (PFLAG)

PFLAG awarded UUCEL an award, and we have worked together on JXN Community Forums.

PLANNED PARENTHOOD -- JACKSON CLINIC
PP has been regularly chosen once for a special collection.

UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST SERVICE COMMITTEE (UUSC)
We have had Guest at Your Table and Justice Sunday programs yearly.

JACKSON FOSTER CARE GRADUATION PROGRAM -
We have donating goods for youth graduating out of the
foster care system.
